PROJECT OVERVIEW

URSHANABI is a non-commercial, fan-created toolkit for tabletop role-playing games and collaborative worldbuilding set in The Expanse universe. It provides ship systems management, station cartography, and tactical navigation tools designed for game masters and players who want immersive, functional interfaces for their campaigns.

All original content—including ship schematics, station layouts, crew mechanics, and interactive tools—is created by the project author for community use. Canonical locations, terminology, and setting details from The Expanse books and television series are used within established fan-creation norms.

COPYRIGHT & ATTRIBUTION

Fair Use & Transformative Work

This project is shared under fair use principles because it is:

• Transformative: It adds new functionality and context—interactive tools, original worldbuilding, and gameplay systems—that did not exist in the source material.
• Non-commercial: There are no advertisements, monetized links, subscriptions, or commercial sales associated with this project.
• Educational: It is designed to enhance understanding and enjoyment of The Expanse by providing structured tools for collaborative storytelling.
• Community-focused: It is shared freely with the fan community and depends entirely on voluntary use by interested parties.

Original Content Attribution

The following elements are original fan creations:

• The Urshanabi ship design, including hull layout, systems architecture, and mechanical specifications
• Crew manifests, character profiles, and campaign-specific personnel data
• Custom Vesta Station level plans, district layouts, and interior architecture (fan interpretation of canon location)
• Interactive tools: status boards, tactical maps, manifests, and live synchronization systems
• All custom artwork, schematics, and UI design

These original contributions may be used, studied, and referenced within the fan community under the terms outlined in this document.

USAGE TERMS & COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

What you can do:

• Use URSHANABI in your own tabletop campaigns, with or without The Expanse setting
• Share the project with other game masters and players
• Reference, study, or learn from the design and implementation
• Create derivative fan content (character sheets, plot hooks, worldbuilding) that builds on the project
• Run the tools offline or self-host if you prefer

What you cannot do:

• No commercial use: You may not sell URSHANABI, charge for access to tools, or profit from its content.
• No trademark or branding: You may not claim the URSHANABI name, ship design, or station concepts as your own original creation.
• No legal claims to Expanse IP: You may not assert copyright over canonical Expanse material (terminology, locations, factions, etc.).
• No removal of attribution: If you redistribute or adapt the project, you must retain this legal notice and attribute the original author.

For derivative works:

If you create a fork, adaptation, or fan project that builds on URSHANABI, please:

• Clearly attribute the original project and author
• Include a copy of this legal notice
• Maintain the non-commercial, fan-creation ethos
